- This will be my 14th year of teaching at Ivy Hill Elementary School in Arlington Heights, IL. I taught 9 years in grades 4 and 5 and am currently the LMC Director. I went to Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois, Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. I have a Masters in Education and have completed an English as a Second Language and Library Media endorsement. I am married, have 3 children, and live in Northbrook, Illinois.

I like to use her books to teach reading strategies. Patricia Polacco writes such interesting stories that children can make connections to.

I love it!!! Patricia is just like my bff. The wierd part is that they both think alike. My friend is a good writer but doesn't think she is.
